Version 7.3 Is Complete and Awaiting Certification
Development of version 7.3 is complete. This update pays special attention to background synchronization.
Previously, to keep different devices in sync, you needed an internet connection while the app was running. Quite often, though, that simply wasn't possible for reasons beyond the user's control.
For example, say you're reading on your tablet during a subway ride. There's no internet, so the app can't sync. When you get off the subway, you close the app and walk home. A while later you open the app on your phone, hoping to pick up where you left off. You're online by now, but your reading position hasn't been synced.
And that is exactly the problem update 7.3 solves.
Here's what has changed. Both the phone and the tablet will run background agents that sync every 15 minutes whenever an internet connection is available. So when you get home and your tablet connects to your home Wi-Fi or a cellular network, it will sync and send your reading position to the cloud. When you then open the app on your phone, it will sync successfully, and you'll be able to continue reading right where you stopped on the subway.
